HUMAN, YOU ARE INVITED
(ENG) Every year EIT CLIMATE-KIC promotes a 24-hour hackathon launching a challenge to all cities in the world to find solutions to climate change.
The #Climathon is a global event that takes place in various cities around the world and focuses on innovation and sustainability to address the challenges of climate change. It is a marathon of sustainable ideas and solutions in which participants work together to develop projects that can help mitigate the effects of climate change and promote a more sustainable lifestyle.🌊 This year's challenge: How arts and new media can be actors of change and awareness of the Lagoon’s complexity?
The Venice Climate Change Pavilion made CE002, the Climate Entity 002 “You are a Butterfly until you don't flap your wings”, as a tool available to participants and all guests, human and otherwise, to compose a third soundscape composed of the echoes of landscapes that have disappeared in the last 10 years due to climate change.
This type of data physicalization is one of the experimental way to make human beings experience the ongoing “slow-violence”(Nixon,2013) that our ears cannot perceive. While we live in cities during a day/week/month time-scale, entire ecosystems and landcsapes disappears under our eyes. This more-than-human design aims to make participants experience data in an unexpected and knowledge-transfer methodology, through a collaborative aesthetic approach (Funk, 2019).

Il #Climathon è un evento globale che si svolge in varie città di tutto il mondo e si concentra sull'innovazione e la sostenibilità per affrontare le sfide legate al cambiamento climatico. Si tratta di una maratona di idee e soluzioni sostenibili in cui i partecipanti lavorano insieme per sviluppare progetti che possano contribuire a mitigare gli effetti del cambiamento climatico e promuovere uno stile di vita più sostenibile.

Il Venice Climate Change Pavilion ha portato CE002, la Climate Entity 002 “You are a Butterfly until you don’t flap your wings”, come strumento a disposizione dei partecipanti e di tutti gli ospiti, umani e non, per comporre un terzo paesaggio sonoro composto dagli echi dei paesaggi scomparsi negli ultimi 10 anni a causa del cambiamento climatico.
